Pumpkin Dump Cake

This is Autumn in a bowl.
I found the perfect recipe at Cookies and Cups.
I will probably have this for breakfast. And lunch. And then 2nd lunch. And dessert.

Pretty Party

My amazing friend, JSP, is getting married! And I got to throw her a bridal shower. I always love a good excuse to make yummy food and decorate.

Here are some fancy pics...

 Whipped cream topped mini pumpkin cheesecakes and Chocolate flourless torte.

A sweet berry pie, monogrammed, of course! 

 I love Autumn so I can decorate with pumpkins!

I personalized the sweet mug with a sharpie. Just bake it at 350° for 30 min and it's permanent! 

Set It Up

I watch tv shows and movies more for the set design than the story line. I find myself trying to look around the corner of a room to see more of their house. I was watching a "Friends" rerun and it reminded me of how much I loved Monica's apartment.

 Those purple walls and turquoise cupboards still look bold and fashion forward in 2012. In 1994 they were so daring. And I still want that print above their tv.

 

 My current crush is "Modern Family". Such perfect colors. And comfy! I really want a pomegranate painting in my kitchen too.

 

 And don't get me started on Julia and Joel's house on "Parenthood".

 

Or Adam and Kristina's house?

 Design heaven!

Ghostly

In honor of Halloween month I'm going to give you a tour of a real Ghost Town, Silver City, ID. We took a trip there on a very smokey day. I think the last time I was there was when I was 6 yrs. old and my only memory of the place was sitting on the steps of the hotel and pretending to smoke candy cigarettes. And then getting in trouble for it!

 The smokey-ness adds to the "Ghost Town" atmosphere.

 This church has services a few Sundays during the summer. I would go!

 

 The school is in the process of being renovated. Such a cool building.

I think this would be super creepy if you were here after dark.

Still the One

I'm still in love with chalkboards in kitchens. For about 10 years I've been wanting a chalkboard in my kitchen or dining room. I've just never had a kitchen or dining room with a wall big enough to place a chalkboard on. But now I do! And now it's trendy.

So I may have to reconsider. But look at how amazing it is...

Dish of the Week

Apple-Plum-Raisin Crisp

 Our plum tree is over-loaded with sweet, delicious plums this year. Last year we had a couple dozen. I've been dehydrating some and eating some more. They are so good warm off the tree. I needed to use some up so I put them in my favorite apple crisp recipe along with some raisins.

And it was super yummy!!!

The Key to Finding Your Keys

When you walk in the door, where do you put your keys? In a bowl? On a hook? In a cubby?

We prefer the hook.

We have used a bowl in the past but it always got too cluttered.

I have found that if I don't put my keys in the same place every time I walk in the door I will lose them every day.

Decisions, Decisions

I need your help! I'm doing a pie contest this weekend and I'm really perplexed as to which pie would be the best to make.

I have to WIN, people!!!!

I'll admit that I'm competitive. Especially when it comes to baking. I really need that validation. :) Please tell me which pie you would vote for. I know you can't taste them but trust me, they will be super delicious!
