Moving Week

I feel like I just moved into my current house and now we're moving out. I'm so ready to settle down in one location for a long time. I think this will be our 11th move in about 16 years. I'm ready to be a permanent resident of anywhere! We have one room painted and the colors almost chosen for the rest of the house. I'm going with the blue for the living room after so many positive comments. Now I just have to pick the perfect blue. Oh, and I bought a refrigerator! Woo Hoo!!! It's beautiful....

Also, with my moving, I'm going to have to change the name of my blog. Sad:( I'm going to have a contest and give-away after the reception and move is finished and I can breathe again.
So stay tuned for some fun times!!!

Painted House

We are starting to paint the house this weekend. That means I have to decide on colors. That is very difficult for me, for my own house. For other people's homes, I can tell you what color you should paint in less than 10 minutes. I usually have a feel for your style by looking at what you own and that tells me what colors you would prefer. But for my own house?! I can't do it!

Should I go neutral (boring tasteful, yet easy to coordinate)?

Should I go trendy (wallpaper accent wall)?

Or should I go with my heart's secret desire (robin's egg blue with crisp white trim)?

So much pressure!!!

Day Off

I took the day off to tackle a bunch of projects. So far....I finished a cross stitch and then fell asleep on the couch for an hour.
I am going to be productive now, I promise!

Comfort

I love color. I really do.
But when I choose my favorite rooms they seem to be based in white.
It makes me feel comfortable.

And We Don't Stop

I've been super busy, how have you been? Saturday we had a moving sale to try and clear out some extra stuff. And I put my beloved magazines in the sale. It was tough. But I was happy when someone would pick up a stack to take home and love. We are in the midst of packing and moving and putting final touches on reception plans. I still have a million things to do and not enough time. I'm working on my grapevine chandelier and it is looking so amazing! I can't wait to share it with you!

This pretty outdoor room is making me happy today. Love the colors and the Moroccan feel.
Bring on summer!!!

Dress It Up

There is something about dressers that make me never want to get rid of them. And when I'm thrifting I always want to buy them. I don't need anymore but they are just so versitile that I think I need one.

Here are some fabulous ideas with dressers. I can't believe the transformations!

Framed

I am a collector of frames. I'm always on the look-out for fancy frames, rustic frames, large frames, unusual frames, little frames, weird frames, pretty much all frames (except blah frames). My problem is that I have these frames and need some new projects to do with them. I've done the French memo board, framed pictures, framed mirrors, and made chalk boards.

But this one I haven't seen.....

And I love it!

I Need A Nap

I've been running on fumes for a few days weeks now. I want a cozy place to curl up and read a book.
Like one of these beautiful bedrooms...

In My Hair

I tried, and failed miserably, to make a birdcage veil for my wedding. Since it didn't work, I didn't wear anything in my hair or on my head. I wish I would have. It would have felt more "wedding-y". Because of that, I have been looking at pretty jeweled headbands. I came across these from the beautiful etsy shop Twigs & Honey. They are out of my price range but they give me inspiration so I know what to look for.

Aren't they just perfect?

In My Dreams

Let's play pretend!
If I were to do the wedding reception of my dreams it would include everything pictured in this post. And most of the other beautiful items from BHLDN's new decor line. They are so perfectly my taste I feel all weepy inside. But alas, I live in the real world where I can't afford such luxuries so I will do my best to copy them.

Chalk It Up

This is one of those ideas I wish I would have seen months ago. It really would have saved me some time for my reception. But I still love my cross-stitched hoops. I want to try this for another party. In the very far future, when the craziness of reception planning has vanished from my memory.
Maybe in about 5 years.

In My Spare Time

This is what I've been working on in between packing, reception planning, working full-time, kids' tennis matches, taxi service, chef and newly-wed...
But they are for the reception so I have to get them done!
I've made three others and I have one or two more to go. We'll see how ambitious I get.

This one was actually made by my amazing husband. He drew it out and then stitched it himself. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself.
And, yes, he thinks I'm "Bad".

Back To Reality

Hi friends!
How was your weekend? We went to the Boise Farmers Market and got a lavender plant, finally tried a macaron, worked in the yard where I found out I now have 2 rhubarb plants so I made the most delicious Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch!
It was a good 2 days. Now back to work. Bleh.

But I thought I could give you a couple pretty rooms to make Monday go a little smoother...
