Van the Star!

Everyone has to watch these little clips of Van. (And I mean it when I say you HAVE TO! It's mandatory and there will be a test later:) He's so funny and yes, he's the one making the noises. I laugh every time I watch these! Isn't he just the cutest baby? I'm just a little prejudice:)

What Parma Has To Offer (This will be an on-going post. I'll add things as I find them.)

Feb. 26, 2008
Today Van and I visited "Petalers". It's a flower shop/gift shop/home decor shop. It was so cute and there were so many things I wanted. I'll have to take a pic of the outside so you can all experience it with me. I will be frequenting it often:)

Even though I grew up in Parma, I feel like I really don't know my town. Because we live out in the country, about 10 miles from town, I didn't spend a lot of time within the city limits. And when I was in high school I didn't care about anything besides sports and boys. So now I've decided to reaquaint myself with good ol' Parma!
Today Van and I went to the Patricia Romanko Library (Pat Romanko was the mayor of Parma for many years). They had story time at 10:00 am and we drove by at 10:15 am and there was a closed sign. I thought that was odd because there was a sidewalk board advertising story time for 10:00 and yet they were closed? So I checked anyway and the doors were open and there were a few people, including little kids, inside finishing up story time. I told them I thought they were closed and they said they open early on Wednesday and Friday for story time but regular opening time is 10:30. Kinda crazy?! Why would you open but keep a closed sign? Another mom and her daughters came in right after me and said the same thing. So I wasn't the only one confused. The explanation from the librarian is because that's how it's always been done. Ah yes, why would I ever expect a different response from a small town library? Anyway, we enjoyed what was left and now I know when to show up. And I met some new friends! After library I noticed a new restaurant had opened down the street and it looked fun, so Van and I walked down and had lunch at our new favorite place "Bistro 2 fifteen". They have sandwiches, wraps, salads and soup. It had just opened last Friday and I love it!!! It was very yummy and we will definately go again. Oh, and they have breakfast too.

Tagged

I've been tagged by... Kayla (I saw that coming a mile away:)

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the question about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 other people and posts there names. And then leaves a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog to get the directions.

What I was doing 10 years ago...Well, I had 2 little kids running around and I was about 6 months pregnant with Paron. Mia was about 3 and Ana was 18 months. I was going to school full time at LDS Business College studying Interior Design and on my last semester! (ok, now that I reread that I was INSANE!!!) I think I was probably up to my neck in a project that took all my time. When I look back at that time in my life I'm actually pretty sad and proud all at the same time. Sad because I don't remember very much about my 2 beautiful little girls, being pregnant or anything else. Proud because I was almost done with school and I knew how much time and dedication went into everything I was doing and I was doing what everyone thought was crazy!

5 Things on my "To-Do" list today...I usually don't do a "To-Do" list, I just have some things that may or may not get done. So we already went to the store and got some much needed Sunday shoes for Paron, Van had a nap, I made some yummy cookies, and we cleaned the house this morning! (Actually the kids did most of the cleaning, I love having good kids:)

3 Bad habits I have...
1. Picking my zits. Bad habit picked up in highschool and I still have it. Thankfully not as many zits as then but it's just so fun to see if they splatter on the mirror!
2. Staying up late. Especially now that my kids have to catch the bus early in the morning. But I just love to be up when the house is quiet and peaceful.
3. Comparing myself with others. I need to stop this because it's only hurting me, which is why it's called a "bad habit."

Places I have lived...Parma, Boise, Rexburg, SLC, Chattanooga, Provo, Cedar Hills and Parma again!

Things most people don't know about me...I love to watch Ultimate Wrestling on tv.

I don't know very many bloggers yet so I'll put this on hold until I find some blogging friends.

February

Well, we are finally starting to feel settled. I guess it hasn't taken too long. But you should see our shop full of boxes. It's crazy!!! I still can't believe I'm back in good ol' Parma but I better start believing it because it's not changing (Seriously, nothing changes here:)

I'm going to start working soon and that's kinda scary. I don't want to put Van in daycare but I have to do what I have to do. That's becoming my mantra. I need to think of a more catchy mantra because that's a little cliche. Someone give me a good one. I've already used, "When life is hard to stand, kneel" felt a little too preachy and I was constantly kneeling; or "It's a Good Thing", oh wait, that's Martha Stewart. Anyway.....we are all doing well on the Parker Ranch (that's what the folks around here call it. It says it on the outside of the house anyway.) The kids are doing great in school and it seems like they've always been farm kids. Paron is loving being able to roam free on the farm, Ana is loving having internet and too many tv's, Mia is already going to friend's parties and Van just goes along with whatever I do. As for me, well I got my Idaho driver's license. I had to take a test and that was scary. I never take tests anymore and the pressure was a killer. But I passed and now I'm an official Idahoan, again!

Love and miss all of you!!!!
