Coming To A Close, And Beginning

September is leaving us today.
It has flown by just like we knew it would. Full of back-to-school, football, and changing weather. I'm still waiting for some leaves to change but it's coming!

The end of the month also brings a start for me. I will be in my 3rd trimester!!!! Too crazy! The little guy is kicking and wiggling and we are enjoying every bit of it. Here's a pic of my ever-expanding belly. I think it's lovely. (I wanted to give you a full belly shot but my camera is missing, that means it went to school with my daughter. Note to self: Get daughter her own camera so she quits stealing mine!)
This weekend is General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Click here to see what I'm talking about. It's the most amazing, up-lifting weekend. And I love it!

A to Z Baby

Isn't this a great idea?
Everyone that was invited to the baby shower was assigned a letter to make up this collage wall. I'd love to do something similar. I don't have as big of a space, but maybe with smaller letters? And it would be perfect for my pre-schooler that will be sharing a room with him.

Dish of the Week

Carrot-Zucchini Bars

Photo and recipe from here
I just picked a nice fresh zucchini from my parents' garden so these are on my menu for the day. I love the way these look. Like a dessert but nutritious at the same time.
And the frosting is lemon cream cheese! Bonus!!!

Dish Of The Week

Tomato Zucchini Quiche
One of my favorite dishes is quiche. There is so much you can do with this basic pie. I love it full of veggies or meat. And you have to have a lot of cheese!
This one is a perfect way to use up all those end of the summer tomatoes.
Enjoy!

Caged Up

I saw this picture in the current issue of Country Living and now I really want some wire gym baskets. I have the perfect spot for them. I have some other wire baskets but I think they will be too big.
It's time for a thrift store day!

Ottoman Empire

Remember my pretty yellow coffee table? It's looking a little scuffed up lately with all the moving around and feet on it and all. And we were using it more as an ottoman (a very hard ottoman). I've seen people turning coffee tables into ottomans lately so I'm going to join in the trend. I'm covering it with an awesome grey vinyl and I think I'll keep the legs yellow, that's such a great color combo.
Maybe it will happen this weekend!
Here are some examples from my Pinterest files....

Room Love

There is just so much to love about this room. Especially the sunburst mirrors. And the lamp, and the zebra ottoman, and the bamboo shades.
 And everything.

Laundry List

Wednesday is my laundry day. I like to have it in the middle of the week so my weekends aren't full of cleaning. My laundry room is coming along slowly. You really should have seen it when we moved in. Definitely a bachelor's laundry room. There is now room to walk and put laundry baskets. I would love a folding station. How sad is it that my dreams include a folding station?!

Here are some amazing laundry rooms to drool over. Then go wash your drool-covered shirt!

Recipe from here
This can be dangerous! Just a warning.

1 lb. candy corn
16oz jar peanut butter (I used Peter Pan Honey Roasted peanut butter)
16oz pkg. chocolate candy coating

Melt candy corn in microwave on high 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking in 15-second intervals til melted, stirring after each interval. Stir in peanut butter. Spread mixture in an 8x8 pan lined with parchment. Cool completely. Cut into squares. Dip in melted chocolate candy coating. Lay on waxed paper to set.

That's it! And d-e-licious!!!

Fall For It

This past weekend I was thinking about getting out the Fall decorations. But it didn't happen. I'm having a difficult time thinking about falling leaves and cool, crisp days when it's over 90 degrees outside. Summer just didn't seem long enough so it's hanging on as long as it can.
I want to feel "Fallish"! I will look at Fall pictures until I feel it comin' on.
Join me, will you?

Second Thoughts

Right now my kitchen is half-way painted yellow. I've had a difficult time finishing it. I love the yellow but it doesn't feel right. And then I saw this picture and now I'm thinking white.
Yeah, it needs to be white.

I'm not sure on the source of this pic. Do you know?

I Wish....

Let's say I wasn't pregnant right now and I needed ideas for Fall clothes. I would be wearing these....

These pics are from my Pinterest. Go check it out.

Instead, I will be wearing stretchy pants and big shirts.

Samoa Bark
We had a family BBQ yesterday and I took these. They were a hit. I'll be snacking on the left-overs all day.
It will be a good day!

Pretty Flower

My reception flowers were beautiful! My amazing sister-in-law is a floral artist so of course I had to have her do my flowers. I loved the pinks and light greens. Everything was great!

Feathery

Since feathers are all the rage right now and I'm about 20 years too old to put them in my hair, I found a better way to utilize the trend.
 Old-fashioned feather pens.
They look so Jane Austen. And I love the custom dye-job. A project I could handle.

P.S. I'm still going to change my blog name. I haven't forgotten! I'm just having a difficult time finding the perfect name. I'll keep you posted on the changes as soon as I make a decision.
