Royal Day

Did you wake up insanely early to watch the wedding? Yeah, me neither. But I did watch it online. I know you are on the look-out for a way to always remember Wills and Kate so I've done some work for you to save you some time. That's the kind of friend I am.

I know my sister is dying to have these. She still cries when she thinks of her lost Princess Di paperdoll. I'm not kidding.

This WWII propaganda poster will never die. Why don't I own one? Anyway, you can save 20% on Royal posters!

It is a pretty ring. I'd wear it if a prince gave it to me.

In case the mug above is too elegant for you.

Another Pretty Project

I really need to get diy-ing. My list is growing and there are so many projects I want to try. I see a light at the end of my crafting-tunnel and I will have time to take on some projects soon!

Here is an amazing project from Design*Sponge using wax paper, one of my favorite papers. It's so versitile.

Dress-Up

These are the dresses I found for my daughters to wear to our reception. I was going to go with something more flowery but once I saw these I had to get them. They are the perfect mix of sweet and feminine with a touch of fancy. And my girls adore them.

Pretty Flower

I'm so in love with these flowers. I love the soft colors. They look so velvety and I can almost smell them just by looking at the pictures.
Mmmm, breath it in!

Painted Floor

This makes me want to paint my floor. Or someone's floor. Who's ready to be my guinea pig?

A Smashing Good Time!

Most Easter egg hunts are for children, but this is a perfect hunt for adults or teenagers. The eggs are filled with confetti, or jello, or birdseed (if you're worried about littering), or whatever fun, tiny things you want to fill them with. After you find them you get to smash them on each others' heads.
Woo Hoo!
Now that's an Easter egg hunt!

Too Good To Be True

Chocolate cake ready to eat in under a minute? My kind of dessert!
BabbleChocMicroCake 300x200 3 Ingredients, 60 Seconds: Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake
BabbleChocMicroCake2 300x200 3 Ingredients, 60 Seconds: Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake
Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake
1 egg
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1-2 Tbsp. cocoa powder (depending on how chocolatey you want your cake)
1 standard-sized mug
In mug, crack egg, add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Whisk together with a small whisk until well mixed. Microwave for 50-60 seconds, until the cake is cooked through (but not overcooked!) Top immediately with a handful of milk chocolate chips, hot fudge, whipped cream, or ice cream. For PURE BLISS, pour several tablespoons of heavy whipping cream over the cake, then eat it with a spoon.
Divine!

Lovely Wedding

I'm loving the little details in this wedding. The paper hearts, the crystal chandelier, the soft colors and feminine flowers, and the look of joy on all the faces.
Beautiful!

Sunday Dinner

This is what we had for dinner yesterday...
Photo from here
It was declared a success by everyone eating it. I saw a picture of it the night before at a restaurant where we were chowing down on midnight French toast. I wanted to order it but I realized I had all that stuff in my fridge and pantry at home. I love when that happens!
It was a super easy meal:
slices of bread (we used buns)
slices of turkey
stuffing
gravy (slathered on!)
cranberry sauce on the side
mashed potatoes (of course)
Try it and it will make you want a full-on Thanksgiving dinner.

And then I made these....
It was Sunday. Do I need any other excuse? I think not.

My Dress

Here I am in my modeling debut...
It has pockets! I love pockets in wedding dresses, don't you?
A close-up of the top. I love the lace. It is so elegant and beautiful.
My favorite picture of the day! We didn't need the umbrella until after we were done, but it was a great prop.
I love this angle of the dress. And it makes me look super slim :)

My amazing friend, Shauna, made my dress. We designed it together and I couldn't have been happier with it. I couldn't find the shoes I wanted so I decided to wear my brown peep-toes that I already had (and counted them as my "something old") and she made a brown sash to tie in with the shoes.

Something Old: brown shoes
Something New: brooch and earrings
Something Borrowed: pearl necklace from my mother
Something Blue: toenails

Prettiness With Magazines

So here is something to do with all my magazines! Lidyll is quite the creative genius. I'm thinking this will be perfect for my daughter's room.

Are There Macarons In Idaho?

Jordan and her family are spending a year living in France and are having the most amazing experiences. I'm trying super hard not to be jealous. But look at these macarons! I want to open up a pretty little box and enjoy such confections on a daily basis. But alas, I will live my life here in Idaho and enjoy pleasures of the country. Le sigh....

Dessert Buffet vs Wedding Cake

I have decided to mix the two.
We will have a dessert buffet with a couple smaller cakes. I came to the conclusion after I couldn't decide. We have to have a cake to slice and I have to show off my amazing dessert making skills so this will be the best of both worlds.
And since my man doesn't like cake, his "cake" will be made of fudge. Yes, he's already spoiled!

Or just do a buffet of cakes!

Maybe I'll just get a life-sized cake of myself. That's not scary at all!

Announements

I am now faced with the daunting task of choosing announcements. Scary! They set the theme and feel for the whole wedding (or in our case, just the reception. But still!).
The samples below are in the style I would like to use.
